From Jayski: NASCAR
announced that R.J. Reynolds, whose 33-year sponsorship of the
NASCAR Winston Cup Series helped elevate the premier stock car series to
one of the most popular sports in the United States, will be officially
recognized for its contribution to the sport through the "Victory Lap"
tribute program.
R.J. Reynolds will be replaced by Nextel after this season. It is nice to see the series sponsored by a smoke-free product since so many kids follow NASCAR. I wouldn't count them as gone yet though. R.J. Reynolds may still find a way to promote through NASCAR in the future with ventures such as this one. CB |
