• Brian Vickers, one of NASCAR's rising stars, is the current Busch Series National Champion
  • Brian also has raced a hand full of Winston Cup races
  • Due to his status as a champion Brian should be racing in an invitation series known as IROC.
  • Crown Royal has taken over as the new sponsor of the IROC series.
  • Crown Royal did not allow Brian to compete.  His age was the issue.  He is under 21

To me race cars are just rolling billboards.  The fact that someone's name is on the car does not mean that the driver or crew for that matter, use the product. The overwhelming majority of race drivers do not smoke, yet NASCAR's top series put on a show under the Winston name for years. A more direct comparison can be made when you consider the fact that Brian is the Busch Series Champion. Why can he race in that series, and be excluded from this one?  I did notice IROC "Crown Royal" die cast cars have been produced.  Hopefully all of the "toy car" drivers will be over 21.  There is a great double standard here. If this is really a problem, Brian should have been allowed to compete in the IROC series with the Crown Royal logo removed.  The marketing people could have placed a public service announcement on his car.  He belongs in this race.
